Dear Dysfunctional,
today, the sea. Why the sea? well, it is because, for thousands of years, the sea has inspired awe, fear, wonder, happiness, melancholy. It is because it is unfathomable, (yeah, yeah... i know that we have; just butt out, you technical cynics..) and for this reason, I want to talk about it. The sea is easily the most relatable force in nature. It, too, has emotions and a temper, secrets and tales. It has as much of a personality as everyone of us (and a good deal more than some, I daresay). This changeability and unpredictable nature of the sea has made it a favorite with writers of poetry and prose and such sich... or is it sich and such? Either way, it is fair to say that the sea has a reputation for swallowing up young suicidal females, fearful and innocent crews of ships, and, which is a more recent development, unfortunate surfers who chose the wrong day to carve in the domain of sharks. Admit it, you used to imagine sharks in your bathtub at one point, too.... no? Ah well, my mind must suffer alone. Returning from the tangent, Grey Poseidon isn't all awe-inspiring feats of might and power over the human; somedays, the sea is playful and beautiful. Yes, waves do also lap the shore gently, and it also foams and bubbles and sends spray in the air with a loud hiss when it hits the cliffs. Yes, it hides immense beauty right below its surface, with colorful fish and fauna sprouting from the coral (or, at least in cuba, anyway). Long story short, the sea is much too complex and finicky to discuss in a short blog post, so please, by all means go and write a book about it. I probably wont read it though. Sorry.
Buenos Noches,
Luigo Bernitolli
