Dear Dysfunctional,
you know what I feel like right now? No, not a latte. Okay, I take that back, I would like a latte, but thats not really what I want... No, what I want, what I need, is music. For those of you who don't know me, music is essentially like other peoples daily drink to calm their nerves. I am a full-fledged audiophile/ addict. I always have a tune lodged in my brain, and whenever possible my headphones are plugged in. However, sometimes it becomes necessary to refuse ourselves even the best things in life, so for a time, I have given up listening to music (though only till the end of Lent). However, that wont prevent me from inflicting the world with my musical tastes, so from this day forth, I will include in my posts a postscript with the song of the day. And just as a disclaimer, I do not just listen to hard rock, so don't shy away in fear. Now that I've written that, I feel that I can dispose of formalities and ask a simple question; why Facebook? Now, I know I am not speaking just for myself when I say that I am much, much too attached to FB. Not more than a few months ago, I would generally only read about fifty percent of what showed up on my news feed; now, however, I find that my news feed is leaving me malnourished (hey, guess why I started blogging again). Now, as I become more and more attached to it, (a sad fact, I know) I leaves me wondering what exactly we find so damn attractive about other peoples lives... I mean, come on. Okay, its fine if we check our Facebooks every so often, but when people have an attachment like mine, it just displays some type of problem. Not only do you become dependent on a very mediocre form of entertainment (sorry people, but your lives are neither exciting nor glamorous), but you also get kinda judgmental about everybody else's life, which is really not necessary. So, in this blog post that i find personally revealing (however accidentally), I resolve to significantly cut back on that.... just because that is probably a good idea. Oh, and by the by, that probably means you will be seeing a lot more blogging from me, too.
Farewell my comrades,
Vernadez Boigatta
PS
song of the day; Beginnings, by Jimi Hendrix. I thought it would be appropriate to begin this practice with a song named... well, Beginnings.
